So my temp gauge shoots up and down, usually after a jerk or sudden movemtn. i know that it cant be a head gasket because i dont smoke etc all that.

Its just the needle will shoot up and down, then it will some times go to the accurate reading of the halfway point.

Where do you think that problem is at, the water pump it has to be a sensor or wire, or so thats what im thinking.

thanks in advance.

Just because you dont have smoke dosent mean its not a BHG. I had the same symtoms with a sticky thermostat and a BHG. Unless you just replaced it recently you cant be sure its not a BHG. Every one of thes cars needs a HG or needs more than 52 ft/lbs of torque on the stock one. 52 ft/lbs is laughable why toyota would ever do this is beyond me. Hell my old Chevy Sprint Turbo had a higher torque value. My Jeep Inline 6 is 115 ft/lbs factory torque spec.

Make sure the whole cooling system is purged of air. Open the heater hot cold valve in the car and everything. top it off and then see 3rd post in this thread http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13440 to test if you have a BHG

Yep, he still could have a BHG. I haven't seen it mentioned but when installing the thermostat be sure to put the little bleed valve at the 12 o'clock position.

And snip off the little dangly too. It will help keep the air out of the system.
Many people (me too) drill the hole out to 3/16".:biglaugh:
