I just noticed the other day that my water temp gauge was not reading at all, the needle just sits there. I've been wondering if the gauge is broken, if there is something wrong with my thermostat, if I have a bad connection somewhere, etc. Can anyone help me?

BTW, I have done searches on here for this and the results of those searches have, for the most part, been inconclusive.

Thanks for your time

Check the wire that goes to the sensor on the thermostat housing it was making a bad connection on mine and just squeezed it closed a little.

Didn't know, sorry. Do I need to replace the gauge or is there a loose/bad connection somewhere or ... ? I don't know anything about the electrical aspects of my engine, but I'm learning as I go and want to learn more. Any insight would be helpful :icon_bigg

Thanks

Does that same rule apply to a gas guage that doesn't work?

In my humble opinion if you could do without a gauge in the 7m it would not be the temp guage

I think I found the problem. There is a a wire disconnected from a (brown I think) clip that's attached to the therm. I'll try to get a picture of what I'm talking about up later for clarification
