Ok guys how do I know if my water pump is working? I know that this question might be common but I need some help from the supra community:1zhelp: thanks AL

look at the weep hole on the bottom and see if its wet. also if it sounds like a roller skate thats a good sign.

Sorry to be the one...but the 'blades' don't 'wear out'.

Also, folks, he asked if his pump was 'working', not if it was leaking.

To see if your pump is working, lower the level of coolant in the radiator to 'just above' the core tubes. With the cap off, start the engine and let it idle until the thermostat starts to open, usually a few minutes.

Look at the coolant in the radiator. It does NOT flow enough at 6-700rpm to see it moving. Slowly raise the idle up, and you should be able to see the coolant start to flow at about 800rpm. Raise the R's up some more, and you should see the flow.

If you don't see flow at 8-900rpms, you have a problem, maybe thermostat, blockage, or pump 'impellor'.

These pumps are NOT known to have a problem with the impellors.

I think I saw some HD pumps available online for the 7m. They should flow more coolant, and perhaps at a lower rpm.:biglaugh:

Well it looks like the pump is working a good thing yet at the same time I come to see that my car was tampered with someone tired to break into my supra :3d_frown: if I didnt have enough things to buy for the NA-T swap. know I need a another door and asembly I ll be posting pics on another thread.
