everything related to the accessory belt is going to be the same between ge + gte minus the alternators provide different amperages (na is higher and varies between some cars and vvti models). the pulley tensioner *looks* different. and the fan is different (clutch is the same)
and damper on the manual gte serp tensioner dont remember the actual name..

Aristo 92-97 = 80A Alternator
Aristo 98-04 = 100A Alternator
IS300 01-05 = 100A Alternator
Supra Turbo & N/A 93-98 Manual = 90A Alternator
Supra Turbo 93-98 Automatic = 100A Alternator
Supra N/A 93-98.5 Automatic = 100A Alternator
Supra N/A 98.6-on = 80A Alternator

2JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GE didn't matter for amperage for the most part, just automatic/manual.

The tensioner is the same for all models except the 2JZ-GTE with 6-speed, which has the damper (like you said). The IS300 2JZ-GE 5-speed also had this damper as well. When I say that it's the same, I mean that they change up to the same one, originally they used different tensioners from the factory, so on engines with the original tensioner, it may look different between auto/manual engines, but they're interchangeable, and if you order one from Toyota, you only get the one style.

Also the 2JZ models that used a hydrofan (Aristo) do have a different water pump pulley than models that used a clutch fan (Supra).

Yes, the water pump pulley on the 2jzge and 2jzgte are different. They are the same size but the bolt pattern are different. I found out the hard way by purchasing a 2jzge water pump pulley, the bolts are narrow and would not fit on the GTE water pump. So this means the Fan clutch are different as well. You could use a LS400 fan clutch or a 2jzgte fan clutch. The LS400 water pump pulley fits the 2jzgte water pump but too bad you can't use it because the LS400 pulley does not have treads for the serpentine belt, it's just a smooth pulley. If you're wondering, I am having a error and trial to do the whole 2jzgte water pump thingy on to a 1jz. Here are two pictures I got from members here posting.

This is the 2jzgte water pump pulley.

And the 2jzge one

I still looking for a cheap 2jzgte water pump pulley....PM me if anyone have one.

I believe that is from the newer 2JZ-GE, like the IS300.

The pulleys between the GE and GTE on earlier models were the same, as was the GS300, SC300, etc.

Not sure exactly when they changed, as I haven't checked yet, but an earlier 2JZ-GE pulley should definitely work for you.

grind the center out and drill new holes, maybe worth a shot??

ahahha....it's so funny that you say grind the center and drill new holes...cause that's what I am doing right now...ahhaha:icon_razz

I started to cut the middle with a dremel. Used my LS400 fan clutch for measurements for the holes. The card board fits pretty good on the water pump. Tomorrow I'll drill the holes, taping the card board to the pulley to drill the holes and see how it turns out. hahah...anyways, I am broke right now a 2jzgte pulley.

So here is the middle cut out with a dremel cutter.

Here is the pulley and the card board.

Here is what I am going to tape the card board so I could drill the holes in to match with the 2jzgte water pump.

If it has play and does not set right, I am gonna have to save up for DM's aluminum pulley kit.

Yeah, that's what I heard. That the GE and GTE are the same, that's why I purchase a GE pulley cause it was 15 shipped. Thought it would fit but maybe I got the newer one or older one. I was looking for a GS300 pulley at the junk yard but no luck, found a LS400, that's how I got my fan clutch from.
