Hi everyone, well as I'm getting into my engine bay a bit I notice that there is grease/buildup everywhere from something. So I take a paper towel and 99% of it is red if you look hard at the paper towel (obviously, most of it on the towel is black). So I think, power steering! Well, its not that I don't think, mine does seep a bit but I'm not missing any more then I ever have, and for this kind of coverage... you would definitly see it.

Next up is the water pump, which the bottom of is SOAKED in what I now believe is coolant with lots of dirt clumped into it. Below the water pump there is literally crystalized red on some parts and everything is covered in the "gunk". So, I think its gone on me too now. But I was wondering if anyone else has had an experience like this with their water pump failing, but not being totally obvious until you really hunt into it.

I do believe I have a reason for it to have failed too, since the car did start to run hot (my hot is like 110-115 tho, stock guage didn't even move) because I was missing 1/3 of my coolant on the roads of indianapolis...

So, I go down to check it for play, since I know its perfectly smooth and makes no noise; and there is no play in it either.

What you did do with that post is make me further investigate. Turns out, my CPS is leaking oil, and it looks like the radiator hose that comes off of the water pump is leaking coolant. Kind of reminds me of what BHG looks like (nasty brown goo)from seeing those water/oil mix posts on here, lol.
