I know this is the return line for the coolant through the TB and ISC. But I am having a heck of a time trying to get this sealed after replacing my BHG. I used a cheap set of no name gaskets (I know this is my first problem). But I have checked with Fel-Pro, Beck-Arnley, and Toyota and none of them having anything special for sealing this water port (based on the pictures on the computer I have seen). What gasket brand should I use, I have heard that there are gaskets with a special seal or coating around this port. I have used RTV blue and that just seemed to make the leak worse.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Im getting tired of taking this thing apart :p

Thanks
Doug

Sounds like your problem maybe beyond the gasket itself. I used ebay gasket and RTV blue sealant. No leaks so far, then again my car won't start either :( You may want to check the head and manifold to make sure there is no damaged surface area. You may have a groove or something causing the system not to seal up properly. Also double check the coolant hose coming off the manifold. Maybe it has a tear or hole in it.

Wow, still not getting anywhere with this? I used a Toyota gasket when I did my HG and there was a seal in that location, can't rely on pics to show everything.... Then again, plenty of people have used plain paper gaskets and RTV iin that location without problems. I suspect something else is going on here.

Give me a call this afternoon and we'll see if we can work out a time to meet up and look this over.

Thanks for the responses guys.

CRE I plan on going back into the car Friday afternoon. Toyota wont have a gasket until Tuesday, local parts store can have a Fel-Pro and Beck-Arnley tomorrow. They said they would order both and let me have a leak. But I am beginning to think I may have a problem with the manifold itself, warped or maybe the nipple isnt seated or sealed properly. If you have time to come by this weekend that would be cool. Im hoping to have it buttoned back up on Saturday though. Give me a call when you have time, I know youre working today.
