so yea...today i replaced my tails with 89+'s...did it in a garage because it was rainin really bad out. since they didnt have much of a gasket i added gasket maker, but seems not to have worked too good on the right side, maybe i didnt add enuff. so later today i hear my alarm goin off, but my alarm hasnt worked in months? so no one could be breakin into the car. so im tryin to remove my bulb houlders and feel a bunch of water in the passenger side quarter panel...maybe about half a galon of it!...sooo i removed all or most of the water and covered everything with plastic for now...until 2moro so i can just use a bunch of silicone on them.
Questions. Will i have any problems in the future because of this? why is my alarm going off, alarm's light not even on!?

werd! just save urself the trouble with silicone crap. you'll probably spend more on buy silicone cause it will be hard to seal then you would on the tail light gaskets... or get some gasket material and make your own. I'd say hit up toyota.

The alarm might have gone on because water build-up may have shorted the wiring to the trunk latch. Normally the alarm would go on if someone were getting into the trunk (hatch) inappropriately.

Also, there is a rubber plug (approx 1'2" dia) in each side of the fenderwell you can pull them out to let the water drain. I leave mine out so water won't fill up that area. Remove the jack and feel way forward at bottom. Do same to other side. Or look for them from under car.
