So today i was working on my car, i unbolted the WG and after unbolting it i noticed that that the WG arm hits the Downpipe Flange. I believe its a Megan downpipe (starts as 2.5" ends 3"). Well the WG arm hits the DP flange causing it to not fully open. Im running a stock turbo elbow BTW.

Has anyone ever ran into this problem? Is it something to worry about? Thanks

Wastegates are for sissies anyway...

On topic though:

I've heard about this problem before with these DP's.
IIRC people were grinding reliefs in the flange to clear.

Are you have boost spikes?

I was hitting Fuel Cut at 12 psi, but I removed some shims from the wastegate and now its good, just under fuel cut at around 11 psi.

On mine it seems that the arm is actually hitting the DP Flange, seems to be to thick.

I thought the wastegate opened into the elbow only? any pics? other wise grinf a groove in the dp so the flange can open fully (although it should limit boost as soon as it begins to open)

Identical thing happened to me on my first freeway run, ebay downpipe. hit 15psi, good way to break in a new turbo haha. Just pull it off and bust out the die grinder.
