Warning lights

This is kind of a dumb question but here it goes. I have a Haynes manual for my car and there is a warning light on my dash that is not covered in the manual. The light looks like a little car and it looks like it is illustrating the brake lights. So far am I right? But now the light is on all the time and my brake lights work fine. I don't get it.

It's the tail lamp failure light. If the lights work, then the tail lamp failure module has failed.. (Yea I know...)

What kinda crap is that lol. There is a light to let you know that your tail lights dont work but if they do and the module for that went bad where is the warning light for that? Lol. Weird. Uhm, so how do I go about fixing it? Replace it or follow the other post for modifying it?

There is a little box below the drivers side tail light. Usually blue/yellow just find a used one of the same color and replace it. Double check that all of your lights work.

What those guys said. It monitors tail *and* brake. Make sure all are working, including the CHMSL.

No, the lights won't work if the box isn't in the circuit. How do you think it monitors them?

I understand that light failure module monitors the tail lights but does that include the reverse lights? If so that explains why the light is on, I have no reverse lights lol.

No, I blew a reverse bulb a few days ago on my 89, no warning light..

Also make sure you have the proper box, Ivory boxes are for cars with the LED brake light on the spoiler, red/blue/yellow are for those without an LED brake light. Luckily they're all interchangable if you decide to go wingless, or add an 89+ wing for example.

Usually water gets in the hatch through a leaky seal (usually taillight gaskets), and may blow a solder. In which case, if it's not too bad you can open it up, and solder her back. You can also bypass the entire box altogether, but you won't know when a bulb is blown...

How do you bypass the box? And mine is a yellow box.
