So i will keep this short and sweet because i am quite tired/pissed off. Thought my oil was a bit low, i was correct, topped it up, maybe a little to much i think. start car again, warning light showing outline of engine block comes up, so i think hmm might just do a quick lap see if it goes away, now i notice my oil pressure is abnormally high, + it rises the harder i accelerate. please tell me what the f**k is going on. 12 hour day+supra stuffing up= me ANGRY! going to do a full oil change tomorrow see if it helps.

You don't have an oil light. If your engine light is on, something else is wrong. Run a check of the diagnostic codes, and that will tell you what's going on.

PS- You say your oil pressure is high- how high?

How do I check these so called diagnostic codes? Oil pressure ranges from below 2 at idle, upto 4 at high acceleration!

-is the car a non turbo? im obviously going to assume the 2 to 4 is kg/cm rather than psi because 4 kg/cm = like 56 psi and i've never known a turbo car to read that high even when over filled, lol. your oil pressure is not the problem, in fact you have great oil pressure. as stated above, check diagnostic box for engine codes.
-the diagnostic box is a little greyish/blue box that sits alongside your fuse box by the battery. remove the cap and look inside the cap and determine the pinhole layout, once you've determined that, place a wire in e1 and link it to te1. once that is done place the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position but do not turn on the car, immediately after you turn the key the "engine" light will begin to blink.
-the light blinks in sequence. for example: code 51, the light will blink first 5 times then pause for a split second and then blink 1 time. if there are numerous codes, the computer starts from the lowest codes in the 10's, then 20's, 30's, 40's, and ends with 50's. have fun counting the blinks as you will probably do it numerous times for reassurance as im sure everyone does. u will need a pen and paper to write them down.
-hope this helps you, if not i wasted a lot of space. lol. good luck

I have a TurboA MA70, can someone point me in the direction of the knock sensor stuff on cygnus. I have looked through almost all of it and cannot seem to find it.

I find it amazing that they didn't make it standard to have warning lights/sounds for low oil and overheating. My aunt seized the engine in her domestic car because she never watches the temp gauge. A warning light would have saved them an engine.

Yes...Euro spec MA70 from 1991 till 1992 had an oil warning light which
indicated low oil pressure.
It was positioned where the TEMS cluster should be. Euro spec mk3s
never came with TEMS,so the place was empty for Toyota to use it.
