Okay guys, here's the deal. I'm mating a W58 to my GTE, but with an R154 clutch kit. The W58 throw out bearing collar is too small to accept the R154 bearing. Will a R154 collar fit snuggly on the W58 input shaft or am I looking at buying a new damn tranny?

What could possibily make you think a R154 clutch would fit on a W58?
(Why not just use a W58 clutch?)

I just finished up mating my w58 to my gte, but I used a w58 clutch kit. The pressure plate, flywheel, and release bearing are different for the r154 and w58. The clutch discs can both interchange b/c the shafts on both are both 21 spline. In order to correct your problem, you will need the proper parts. (flywheel, pressure plate, release bearing) Hope this helps.

The w-58 is a push type, the r154 is a pull there is no way you will get that to work. There are performance clutches for the w-58 out there you just have to look around.

I've been running 350-400HP on my w-58 for awhile, It was a fresh tranny and I put in a custom stage 3 6-puck dual spring feramic with a stock pressure plate, I out powered the pressure plate and then went up to a 2800lb cluchmasters and haven't had a problem.

As for how long it will last depends on how you drive, If you beat the hell out of it making decent power don't expect a long time. I have fun with mine but I also take care of it too. Heavy launches will end you pretty quick.

Okay, it's all fixed now. The guy I bought it from had those parts, so I was seeing if it was possible with that setup. Obviously, it's not, so I'm putting out the cash for an r154. I plan on building up the engine soon anyway. As a result, I'm selling the W58. Thanks for the help.
