ok after gettin 2 new sensors and such, i got the vpc working ( no more AFM :) ) So now im running rich as hell, have no wideband or safc YET its next on things to purchase, car is backfiring, gas mileage went down the toilet, so my question is can i even things out with the VPC itself (for now), atleast a little better than it is now...until i can purchase the other parts

Thanks,

Sure you have the right chip for your injectors? When I isntalled mine without any tunning done, it ran just like stock, no backfiring, no problems. If it is running that rich, you could just lean it out a bit, but then again, don't want to blow up.

one of the knobs on the VPC can adjust fuel across the entire RPM curve. Search SF for instructions, I don't remember which knob it is. 3rd? Maybe?

I was runnnig a VPC with a 440 chip and 550 injectors and i was damn near perfect as far as AFR goes.

second knob from the left. Lean it out a little, see if poping goes away. As rich as the stock computer runs, I don't think you will be able to lean it enough to actually go lean (enough to destroy the motor) anyways...
