Basically, I pressure washed the engine and I got the alternator soaked and I think the voltage regulator pooped the bed LOL You wana hear somethin funny? after about 14.5 volts the ABS stops working? wierd huh? and the temp guage goes way up. Okay ill get to the point, the voltage is too high and I need to know if the regulator is located in the ALT or not so I can replace it. It depends on the vehicle if its built into the ATL or not. I think the water fried somethin and when I go above 2 grand the voltage gets too high and screws up the sensors and stuff.

uh,
its not wise to run your car on 14.5 volts.. things could go wrong.

I suggest parkign the supra and rip the alt out have autozone test it.

Why on earth would you power wash the motor?
its some what logical, and some what safe as long as you cover all the crucial electronics or unplug the battery and let it sit for 24 hours to dry.

My father has taken his Yukon in to get the bay washed. They use those glad scrunch plastic hair net things and put them over all the electronics (distributor, alternator, battery, fuses, etc etc).. and wash it down then air dry a majority of it. and use some sort of engine bay shiner thats safe on hoses.

it can be done but hell with the 7M's setup and its tendency to collect water in the spark plug valley, i wouldnt do it with a high prssure washer. Id use like a hose or something more controllable.

I get so many compliments on how clean the engine bay is, I usually do a degrease and wash about once a month but I got carried away with the alternator while it was pluged in, ill be more carefull next time.
