voltage drop from battery to ecu

hey ya'll..

just got the fcon installed and was checking to see if it powered up and i measured the battery and have about 12.6v
when i checked the power @ the fcon i only have about 9.8v

is this voltage drop normal? if not... what could be causing it?

I don't think so... I checked my power levels at the ECU when I was installing my wideband a while back, I was definitely in the double digits.

Anything else still on in the car? Stereo, lights, rear window defogger?

yea got my sub cranking LOL

only annoying thing with my stereo, it doesn't actually have an off button

just pulled the face off my stereo and tried again

12.6v battery
10.24 @ engine harness going to fcon harness
9.99 @ fcon

high resistance will cause a huge voltage drop. check your wires and connections

you have an fcon jumper harness? check the pins on them and make sure they are snug.. I'm actually have same sort of problem.. but i have 14 v (when running) and 12.7 at the ecu.. when i get on it it drops to 11.8... I havn't looked but maybe my 1jz-2jz jumper harness is loose.. or maybe the wire is to small?


edit: just read you checked at the harness? so means its somewhere else? does the power come from the fuse box (i dont have the diagram in front of me).. maybe a little corrotion on the pins in the connector..

What size wire did you decide to run for your battery relocation?
