Okay, to start off I must say I have had alot of fast cars in my life but the powerband on my supra has a wired pull and I dont know if its normal or if somethin is wrong. I have 3 inch from turbo all the way, BC, BOV Intake and A/F box mod. I am running around 15 PSI depending on the gear and the load. The RPM band goes like this, strong pull from 2.5 grand to 4.5 but then from 5 to 6 the car stops pulling and if I upshift and the rpms get lower it pulls harder!? like for example 4th at 3.5 grand pulls alot harder then 3rd at 5. Is it normal to loose power at the higher PRMs? The car did this even when it was stock. Why does my turbo put out less boost at higher RPMS? That might be the reason, is that normal? You would think a turbo would be able to spin faster at high RPM. On a normal car you get more power at high RPM maybe because of the tubo its different? So when racing should I short shift?? srry its been buggin me for a while -- Eric

I did have a boost leak in the begining at the bottom of the turbo, I fixed it and went thru all the piping for cracks and such, now it appears to be leak free. So its not normal to have less boost at higher PRM!? I get more boost in a higher gear, lower RPM under load...

I dont know about anyone else, but my turbo pulled strong all the way to redline....even when it was stock. To lose power in the top end is NOT right. I have heard that the CT26 runs out of breath when pushing 15 psi or higher, but you said that happened even when it was stock. Replace all your hoses. Thats where i would start.

Yea your CT-26 is probably running out of breath around 5k. Watch your gauge, you'll the higher your rpms go boost will bleed off to around 10psi by redline. Its just the small turbo.

aye mate, your theory was what I was thinking too like the engine is sucking in so much air at high RPM that the turbo cant keep up pressure, im loosing alot of pull should I short shift ?

no the one at the top of the dp. its just the ct running out of breath and the wastegate not being able to hold correctly. get a couple washers and shim it and it will hold better. the spring is just tired is all.
