A few divers have gotten sucked into the one here at lake berryessa.

Where the dam is there used to be an old town but they cleared everyone out and built the dam and the area filled with water. You can go diving there and still see remains of the buildings that were there.

Ive been to the one here as a kid, I would try and throw big sticks into it and try and see them shoot out of the dam below.
