I recently got my head machined and had new valve stem seals put in the motor. During the initial start up you could hear this very audiable ticking noise. So I wanted to ask if this was normal on a rebuilt head, the man said it would go away after a few hundred miles, but I looked around and now I wanted to ask what you guys think the problem may be?

The ticking is audiable throughout the RPM Range
It sounds like a sewing machine its annoying and I want to get it fixed asap

Thanks

Make sure your cam saddles are torqued to spec, if their not that'll make a ton of noise. Other than that there aren't any shortcuts, you have to measure the clearances, do the math and install new shims where needed.
