Valve stuck open?

Really bad misfire at idle, engine shaking, smoke and all that. Actually drives ok, but gets too shaky after about 3k rpm.

Did a compression test: 179, 183, 182, 180, 0, 182

Looks like a pretty healthy motor except for ZERO compression on #5!

Added a bit of oil down the spark plug hole and ran the test again. No change.

Reserch suggests a valve stuck open. Thoughts? Advice?

Thanks!

Thank you.

I took a gamble that the issue was a stuck valve, and I was going to try the cheap/easy/shadetree method first.

I removed the manifolds, put some Marvel Mystery Oil in an old Windex bottle and sprayed a bunch into the cylinders. Let that sit a few days, bolted it back up and went for a drive.

Seemed ok!

Used Sea Foam in the engine just for turds and chuckles, and the engine has been doing great since. Haven't retested the compression, but the engine seems to to just fine now, so I haven't bothered.

Thanks
