I was wondering when you change the valve springs(i was going to go with the comp cams spring).Do you need to adjust the shims when just replacing springs?And im planing on making roughly around 390 whp would it be benifical changing the springs?

Springs themselves aren't exactly a "mod"...
They're something you do if you have to. Or, as figgie said, if the head is off, may as well. They certainly are cheap enough to justify buying.
The valve height is unchanged, therefore there is no need for new shims. Just remember which go where and you're all set!
