ok i was wondering in the supras if there was a such thing as a valve cover gasket leak??

i was wondering because i just recently swapped a 7mge and im starting to get smoke and the smell of burnt oil out of the bay..

at first i thought i was the exhaust manifold becuase i did not torque it down all the way thus leading to an exhuast leak.

no i have another question...

wen im driving sometimes and its all random no set gear or rpm, my car almost seems as it jerks slightly though.

also when im at a complete stop and idle, my car seems to struggle staying "alive" it idles down almost to the point where i have to rev the car so it does not die.

what is the problem hopefully you supra experts can help me.
i cant seem to diagnose the problem.

damnit i still have a loose vaccume line and i cant find its home lol.. it could be the problem but i dont know.

and one more thing when i step on it on first and shift into 2nd i hear a pop and a thump almost like a back fire in exhuast any ideas or insights!!

since you have a 7mge make sure you have all the vaccum lines pluged in.
1. stalling during idle souds as if its a hose leak. as i found out every single line loose can cause idle problems on the 7mge.
2. you could check the timing on the dist. to make sure #1 is actually on plug #1
3. valve cover leak: if you had a leak there would be oil all over the place. if you are not certain just change the cover gaskets and make sure you get the 3rd engine cover that's in the middle. (you need a 14mm hex bit to remove this) good luck.

I've heard that if the PCV system isn't working, you can develop pressure inside and oil will blow out from under the cam covers.

Valve cover leaks are a common problem. But I think most of the problems is with the screws that hold the cover on. They should not be too tight because it'll crush the gasket too much and start leaking. But they always come loose and oil starts leaking.

But it sounds like you have a vacuum leak.
