Vacuum Hell....

I tried to do good, and replaced ALL my vacuum lines with some cool blue ones that I got from Toyota. Everything was fine that day. SupraHero said "Don't those MELT? It gets hot under the hoods of these cars." Well I guess he was right. My vacumm reading went from -71 were it usually runs to -1 or 0! Also now when I get on it, I hear a high pitched squeel that wasn't there before. So I guess I get to REDO all my vacuum lines AGAIN! I hate doing things twice, but three times would really suck, so what kind do I need to get that won't melt? Will it hurt to drive it at 0 vaccum?

Yes, you need to fix you vacuum lines asap. Get some silicone vacuum lines from hose techniques, they make a kit just for the supra, nothing but good responses from them so far...

What?? A healthy motor should pull 20-25in.hg...if your's reads -71 then you have issues or it's not hooked up correctly. Are you using a boost/vacuum gauge or an actual vacuum tester? Boost/vacuum gauges don't normally even go that high in vacuum.

+1 for the Hose Techniques kit, I bought it and it looks and works great. They provide plenty of zip ties and two cutting tools. Good luck!!

I prefer spring loaded clamps personally, they are reusable and that's what came on the car...

i bought high temp silicone (hightempsilicone.com). they are a bit pricey but they will not melt (they give a lot of extra hose too with the kit). and good for just about anything (stay away from battery acid, they sell special hoses for stuff like fuel oil etc)

they used to be on SM but i am not sure what happened with that.

and you said you got it from toyota? was it a dealer? im thinking they just sold shitty ones from autozone~ some toyota dealers do that...

hosetechniques ones... search on google.. i use them they are made of silicon and wont ever crack!!

I got them at the Toyota parts dept., but they weren't OEM, they were some brand I have never heard of. I went back and put larger ones on, but I will order the ones you are talking about when I get caught up alittle. I have spent so much on my two supra's, that my fiancee may be changing more than just the wedding date on me. (Might be changin grooms..lol kidding) I have them holding for now. I won't drive it hard, and will check them daily. As for the -71 to -99 readings, it is still reading that, but has no measurement by it. My stock gauge just goes to -4, and my aftermarket gauge (Autometer Phantom) doesn't have negative on it. It starts at 0 and goes to 50 or something like that. The boost controller hits 0 and then Boost about the same time as the other gauges. Maybe it is hooked up wrong.
I may have to take the car to someone close that has more experience than I do. Suprahero is only an hour and a half from me. After seeing his car, I know he knows his stuff. And a few people even closer that could probubly help me.

I have no clue what pounds per headgasket means. ( I know its some kind of measuerment )

LOL I am such a newb.

Oh and i forgot that the greddy doesn't put a point on its PSI, so when I am at 8 lbs boost it reads 80, so when I am at -71 or -91 its actually -7 or -9.
I feel like such an idiot. lol At least my car isnt about to blow up. he he
