so the past couple times i drove her, i realized that i'm not getting vaccuum as soon as i start up, but rather when it warms up. i know this cuz i get compressor surge for a while and then i got vacuum and psshhh. could a break in the IC piping cause this?

Not likely. This is usually oil sludge built up in the vacuum lines to the BOV. As the engine bay heats up, the sludge becomes almost liquid and allows a signal through.

It's pretty easy to fix, just pull the lines and blow them out with brake clean and then compressed air.

If you have excessive PCV blowby, they'll clog again pretty quick, unless you get an oil catch can.

ive used the greddy type s and hks ssqv and both would stick when it was cold out.

this time of year i always have to stay out of boost otherwise i get compressor surge.

not really a bad thing, you shouldnt be boosting until everything is warmed up anyway.
