Any one know of a website that will give me info on a v8 conversion for my supra 1989. Also anyone here done the v8 conversion or have info on how hard it will be. And how much it will cost.

wrong section first off, second it depends on what motor you are looking at swapping and third, if you use the search, you will find info on. Myself, I am in the process of swapping a toy/lex 1UZ v8 into mine along with that, SYST is swapping a LS1 into his. Write-ups on both swaps can be found in the build section of the general topics area.

A "Chevy 350"? Oh, all 5.7L V8s from GM must be the same. LS1, LT1, or and L98. Yet, I doubt you were even referring to one of those. I bet you mean one of the 1st gen SBC 5.7Ls.

No offense, but only someone who does not know what they are talking about says they want to put a "Chevy 350" into a car. I suggest becoming educated on the matter and then make a choice as the which specific engine you want. Especially before deciding to put it in a car it never came in.

As far as "swapping" a motor goes it is simple. Make the engine physically fit and then fab up some mounts. Cut and re-weld parts of the unibody, whatever it is cake work. As far as headers and wires, etc. Those can be made/modified to fit. So basically, decide what motor you want based on the motor's performance, don't be worried it won't fit.

the only dimension that's same on an LS series GM V8 and the 1955 283 block.... is bore center distances. That's it.

I'm not one to preach about "keep it toyota" or any other ridiculous crap like that, but seriously, what would the point be in using a 327 in a 3rd generation supra. what exactly does it do better than a 7m.

If I was going to the work to put a different motor into a Supra, it'd be one that was lighter, more powerfull, smoother, or a combination of the above... like a 4.6 Ford, an LS series GM, a Viper V10.

I guess if you've got a rat block sitting there and a wrecked supra and no other way to get to work it makes sense, but other than that I just don't get it.

Firstly, yes I would not swap in an iron V8. However I couldn't care less if other people decided to, it is definitly cheaper. Secondly, my whole point is when you say Chev 350 you are not referring to just one motor. You are not being specific enough.

only reason im thinking of doing it is i have a fully built 88, and the left over shell of an 87.......and a shop filled with good 327-350s :)

and the hick retards around here would buy the "V8" for good money, hence more money for me to dump into my nice supra ;)
