Hey everyone im looking for a little help tracking down an issue im having with my recent 1uzfe swap

the problem is that the motor is runing very rich and im trying to figure out why or just find a solution to it .
first a little background, the car is an 87 that had a 7mge in it . i swaped the ge out for a 1uzfe(lexus 4leter v8) all the wiring checks out.
when i pulled codes i found that the maf threw two codes p0100 and p0101
to my knowledge one code is for the maf and the other is for the maf circut
i just cleaned the maf out with some maf cleaner and it seemed to smooth out the idle quite a bit but its still kicking out black smoke out the back when its reved.
black smoke= running rich if i remember correctly
so im trying to track down the issue at worst case scenario i could lean the mixture out with an safc2 (if i ever get the right wiring diagram for it)
thanks in advance

02 sensors? depending on what it came out of it will have a minimum of 2, or 3 for higher years for a dual exhaust. The Supra 7MGE had one except california which had a cat sensor. If your running with less than the ECU is supposed to have it will run rich, or if they are old and worn out. A missing or malfunctioning sensor should throw a code though. Also check for vacuum leaks and recheck the wires to the maf sensor.

Add turbos, that should even things out a bit. ;)

Seriously though, I had a very similar problem with my SS a long time ago. OBD2 returned codes that suggested o2 sensors being bad, but it ended up being a dirty (oil covered from the K&N filter, was way over-oiled from the factory) MAF. My initial suggestion would be to check your o2 sensor wiring, perhaps have them tested?

the turbos are on the menu for next summer lol

the codes i pulled sugested the maf not the o2 ssensors.
im thinking you both may be right tho cause icant see anything else that would cause such a rich condition.

im wiring up my safc2 today so ill be able to trim some of this fuel out lol

ok so i wired up the safc2 and im getting some weird readings
it seems that the throttle reads at 100% all the time and the maf looks like its getting signal and reading 85% witch is super weird and i cant really explain it

Sounds like the AFM meter is bad or you have broken wires somewhere. Get your problems fixed first.

yea i think so
the only reason for the safc2 is for its monitoring features cause it will give me much more acurate readings than anything else at my disposal at the moment

ok so i replaced the maf and still no luck
removed the safc2 still no luck
its like the ecu is ignoring the maf, im at my witts end trying to figure this out

The MAF might not have been the culprit. Test the MAF wiring for continuity from the ECU end to the MAF end of the harness.

im not exactly sure how to do that
i did however test the maf side of the harnes and its getting 5 v on the center pin
is that what you meant?

I would check the maf & tps sensors/wiring.
did your 1uz come with the traction control tps body because that sensor is wired in parallel with the main tps sensor.

Also check for any vacume leaks like the egr hos between the TB and valve cover under it any leak at all between the maf and cylinder will cause bad afrs.

Also make sure you have the right ecu with the engine because the engine had 2 different injector sets light purple or blue.
I think the blue injector engines have a little more hp and a slightly larger injector size.

the engine ecu and wiring harness all came out of the same car at the same time so i know they are right.
yes this engine came with traction control and has the extra tps (does it need to be connected for the engine to run properly?)
do you or anyone you know have a vac diagram for this motor cause there are a couple of vac lines that i just dont know where they go.

and how do i check the tps wiring and the maf wiring?

i just set the tps fully clockwise and now the engine is not giving black smoke but it is not idling smoothly, it is bouncing the idle betwe8en 800 and 1100 rpm systematically.
i have already cleaned the idle air control valve.

ok so with both the coils hooked up the idle bounces but disconnect either one and the idle drops down to normal
did i miss something here in my wiring ??????

ok so this is really driving me nuts the car is either gonna spit black smoke and run rich as all hell with a 4k rev limit or its gonna bounce the idle and have a 2.5k rev limit
i have cleaned the trhottle body
replaced the maf
cleaned the idle air control valve
re oiled the idle air control valve
and im still not getting anywhere
has anyone had this problem before cause im really at my witts end here
