URGENT: Differences in Engine Mount Brackets

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the '90 engine mount brackets between the N/A and Turbos?

I am talking about the aluminum bracket that bolts to the engine block. I am using '90 N/A brackets for a Turbo engine and several things are not bolting up. The fuel supply line connector doesn't reach, the stabilizer/shock support doesn't bolt up anymore, the small stay rod that goes to the intake volute doesn't line up, and that's just the intake side. On the exhaust side the turbo support bracket doesn't fit anymore and the transmission to engine support doesn't sit flush (I had a spare of those so that's alright now). So I guess I am wondering, if the brackets are the same between the two engines, then the accessories that I am trying to bolt up must be different.

I bought a set of 98 TT engine mounts (Insulators) from Jeff Watson so those should be fine for setting the engine in the car, I'm not worried about those.

Urgent help is appreciated since I am trying to prep the engine for installation tomorrow morning.

Regards,
Chris

It was deleted after 01/89. It doesn't sound like both of your engines are from a 90, or the car is not a 90, or something.

What year is the car, what year are each engine?

You're probably right about the dampener being withdrawn (I didn't think about that - now I have to check if the bolt holes are in the frame). The engine is from a '91 btw and it's going into a '90 I originally worked the engine to fit in my '87 which I just pulled it out of. Now I'm confused:aigo:

So you're putting a 1991 7M-GTE into a 1990 N/A car, which the 7M-GE came out of to go into a 1987.

So... all that being said, the 1991 7M-GTE should have the correct brackets to bolt to the 1990's crossmember. The N/A and Turbo had the same crossmember, it was only changed based on date.

Kind of. The block originally came out of a 91 Turbo. I rebuilt it and used the parts from a trashed 87 engine and installed it in my 87. I bought a 90 N/A car. Now...get this...I took the rebuilt engine out of my 87 and am installing it in the 90. I had to change the engine mounts due to that, to the round style mounts (which I bought the 98 TT mounts from Jay Mark's Toyota) and am using the brackets from the 90's original N/A engine. I think I'm all set now. I ground down the aluminum mount a little bit to fit the dampener on. I found an intake plenum stay support from my stash that fits. The only thing I am not going to change is the fuel supply line dealy (the coupling piece that bolts to the mount).
