URGENT: Damn thing doesn't start!

so i went to my friends house. upon pulling out i saw that the gauge lights werent on...nor were the parking lights. i didnt think much of it, i just thought it was a glare or something.
when i came out of my friend's place and tried to start my car it didnt start! cranks fine but no attempt of start. i checked all the fuses and the tail light fuse was blown. i replaced with a fuse of the same amps. it blew it again. i think this is related to the gauge lights not going on as well as the parking lights and the NO START.
what can i do? what can i check?:1zhelp: !

erm, my advise would be to sell your car. Since you clearly don't even know what the CPS is.

it dosnt sound like the cps is the problem. check the EFI fuse.

so i wiggled a bunch of wires..i dunno if that did it, but it fired up..

id inspect some wires... you have a short somewhere if youre popping fuses

ah yes the fuse link to the puzzle, this could all make sense soon. i gotta try to replace that taillight fuse again tommorrow. i rode on hazards on my way back home just to be safe

dont replace the fuse. itll just blow again. Find out WHY its blowing. Wiring diagrams are good for this.. get a multimeter and go to town testing circuits that are connected to that fuse. Fuses dont blow just to bust ur chops, its becuase the circuit is pulling too many amps.

well i was thinking maybe the set of wires i wiggled to make the car start had something to do with the wires to that tailight fuse....ah whatever...ill run tests..

I know fuses blow for a reason, but when I got my car, it had several blown fuses...none of the interior lights or anything worked...replaced the fuses...has been fine ever since...maybe they were just old...?

edit: come to think of it...my car's previous owner had a monstrous sound system in the car...maybe that was a contributor?

Ya, I would check for any aftermarket wiring. If there is an aftermarket security also check that wiring.

yikes, if you have a short thats blowing fuses then you have a fire hazard somewhere. youd better fix that right away.
