Upper Rear Window Moulding

Hopefully someone can help me out with getting some part numbers.
Ever since I got my car the rear window moulding hasn't been flush with the back window like it is supposed to be.

If I push on the drivers side between the end and the washer sprayer, you can feel and hear a clip snap into place, but it doesn't stay in place for very long and just pops back out. If I push on the other side nothing snaps in. I am assuming that some of the clips are broken, and just need to be replaced so that it will stay flush. I looked in the TSRM, and it shows that there are two different types of clips on the upper moulding, but when I use the EPC on the TSRM website I can only find one type of clip and it doesn't say which one it is.

Assuming that it is just some broken clips, could someone provide me with the correct part numbers for the differnet clips?

Thanks,

Gavyn

Go to Safelite glass. They will have the clips you need, and will probably pop them in right quick for not much at all.

Thanks, I didn't think that they would carry the correct moulding clips, but I will give it a try. I guess I will need to pop that peice off to see what the broken clips look like and for them to match it.

How exactly does this trim piece come off? I tried prying the moulding like the TSRM says to, but it wouldn't budge, and I don't really want to break the moulding.

IIRC, the molding does not come off, I did a R&I on a hatch glass last spring, and I believe it rolls over the window. The urethane and the lip make it almost impossible to come out without bending it to oblivion...

The molding does come off. I have replaced mine about 5-6 years ago with a new Toyota piece with new clips. I do not remember any part #'s thou.

I ordered this from Mark Sherman at Vancouver Toyota in Washington state... and as I recall, the clips came with the new moulding. I wouldn't hesitate to call him and order what you need, if anyone can get the individual parts, he certainly can.

I also seem to recall that you slide it up or down to get it to release. Here's a pic of the actual part... or one of the old ones that came off my car when I put on the new one, anyway.

Thanks those pictures helped me out alot. So I'm pretty sure that i found the part numbers.

For the three inner clips I think it is: 75039-14020
For the two outer clips I think it is: 75496-14010

I went out again and tried to get it off, but I still cant figure out how the outer clips release the moulding.

Does anyone know how those outer clips come off?

Sorry, i had no interest in saving the trim. The clips are cheap, break them suckers.

Yeah I'm not worried about the plastic clips, I just don't want to bend the metal clips. If I would happen to bend the metal clips I guess I could probably bend them back into shape, or figure something out.

Well, today I finally got around to repacing the clips. Chip was right about the clips on the outside being the same as the inner ones. I ended up only replacing four of the clips because I didn't get the passanger side outer clip off of the moulding and didn't want to hurt the moulding trying to replace that clip, when it wasn't broke. So the only part number you need is 75039-14020. Here is how it looks now and is supposed to look.

(Sorry the pic isn't super great. My good camera broke, so this will have to do for now)

It looks much better now, and I don't have to worry about it flying off on the highway, or leaking anymore.
