The shocks on my car now sound like they are ready to blow up.(If they haven't already). I need to replace them badly...so I've come across this argument with myself.

TEMS seems really great, but I dont think it's what I need when I'm trying to launch off the line. Should I get the stock-replacement shocks or go with these Tokico HP Shocks. They are not TEMS compatable, so I was wondering on if I would "really" be happy with it in the end.
I don't really care for "the smoothest suspension, but more for a launching good type of suspension. Would these Tokico's work and does anybody know the quality or run these?

Same boat here.I have seen TEMS replacement shocks as well, but I need to up-grade my shocks.I looked at Suprasport, and the Tokico's have a few bad reviews about blowing out too soon.
If you go non-TEMS,you can remove all the clutter from it,get a pocket from a regular Supra, and you'll have a place to put your wallet when driving!(so when you get pulled over, you can get your license easier!)

The TEMS pocket isn't big enough for a wallet. :( I know, I don't have TEMS. It's big enough for lipstick for the ladyfriend, that's about it.

Launching shocks and driving shocks are very different beasts. For good handling, you want tight shocks and springs. For good launching, you want loose shocks and springs that allow weight to transfer back when you romp on it. This is why people like adjustable coilovers, best of both worlds.

For launching, I'd suggest stock shocks, non TEMS, and the softest aftermarket springs you can get - Suspension Techniques would be my first guess.

For performance driving, I'd go the exact opposite - the stiffest shocks and springs you can get.

Well all my suspension is all stock. I don't want it to go much lower...BUT, I would like to have a good suspension. I'm just not sure what to go with for shocks. With Tokico, unfortunately, I've heard the same thing(going out too soon)...How about Koni (are they all yellow?)...If not..How about "Koni Yellows"?:)

Well...the reason why Tokico's sounded so appealing to me is because for the rears(what I am concerned about)...were under $60 for both:)
