my ct26 is leaking oil. about a quart every 2 weeks. i tried a few performance shops around here (i live in baltimore) no one wants to touch it and rebuild it with my kit i bought because they have to re-balance it after taking it apart. dealership said they would but at a rate of $106.00 an hour for labor and set it at 6 hrs. i want to just buy a new one so i wont have to pay all that money to have an old rebuild turbo. rather just buy a new one if im gonna spend all that. my main question is, if i was to purchase a garrett t61 (not those chinese guys) would it be a bolt on or would i have to re-route oil lines and all that jazz. also, would the car be able to handle a stronger turbo like this stock? theres a couple im lookin at heres the cheapest one that looks ok...

Well young supra owner, you mean well, but all of your questions can be answered by a little searching.

Give the search button a test run, and then come back with any thing you can't find - we'll be happy to help.

Listen to the TURBO GUY.... :) he knows best. First of all tell us a little more about your car. You still on stock engine accoding to the partslist you got on your sig.How many miles on it and whats the condition? What are your goals, with the car like, you just wanna get it running with a stock turbo or maybe a stock upgraded ct26 with a 60 trim compress might be all you need. I have personally laid down 430 rwhp with the ct26 60 trim. Our motors (7mgte) are notorious for BHG s. So if you wanna push some power over 350 rwhp, the stock head gasket wont do it. You might get away by retorquing the head bolts. You can easily search for that one for the proper way to retorque the head bolts. Our cars respond very well to bolt ons. I have personally laid down 300 rwhp and 350 rwtq with , K&n intake, 3 inch catless turbo back exhaust, 2.5 hard pipes w/stock intercooler, Aeromotive AFPR, Safc on the stock turbo at 15 psi. Well ill stop typing and let you answer / search for some info and get back to the thread. Let me answer your question about the T61. You are not near ready for that turbo as far as your modification go, but it can all change if your wallet is big enough. Good luck SEARCHING for some info and get back to us if you cant find it.

yeah thats what i was thinking. didnt know if it would be smart to put a turbo like that on my car right away. the car is mighty clean it has 158,000 on it. power driver seat broke today >:0 it sunk in like a bucket seat and now it wont come back up so i have it sitting all the way flat on the floor. what im looking to do with it is just to have it a quick street car so i can eat hondas all day. i wanna get rid of all the cats cause i have historic tags (no inspection or emissions) so im thinking the hks dragger 3.5 sounds ok from youtube videos. as for the turbo.....i'd keep it if i could just get it to stop leaking. i dont want to take it apart, kinda nervous. plus this is my daily driver sooooo cant mess anything up, ya know. thanks for the welcome mdcmotorsports. im learning alot from this site so far!
