ok, I'm now looking for a clutch...I don't want another stocker that might last another month.... I need something strong that will allow expansion room for my future goals. I plan on eventually having 500 or so hp. What is the best clutch for the money that I can get? I'm looking to spend about 400-450. Also, where do I get it from? Who is the cheapest on prices? I would also like to get a light flywheel....and I have the same questions about it.

unfortunatly out of your price range the HPF feramic with ACT pressure plate is probably hands down the clutch to beat for our cars. ;)

with a 450 dollar budget kinds of limits it to spec and ACT. As for RPS... i wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole.

I am looking hard at an ACT pressure plate with a stock disk...... It looks pretty nice. I can always upgrade the disk later when my power level changes and I have more cash....right?

of course you can.

the only reason people do everything is cuz it is not a simple job.

So if you change the pressure plate.. change the throwout bearing, center bearing, rear main seal while the tranny is out :)

Clutch Specialties. If you never heard of them do some research on them. Got mine for like $400 and change shipped.

can you pricematch the ebay prices on the ACT pressure plate(295+20 shipping) and the fidanza flywheel? (300+15 shipping) Both are from ebay stores, that is regular price, not an auction.

Gixxer, get the HPF bronze disk. You can leave the pressure plate alone and be fine up to 400-450 hp. ACT is a great PP though. I'd preffer the RPS flywheel over the fidanza, but maybe fidanza has gotten better at drilling 7m boltpatterns. I've heard many stories of them not matching up.
If you do go with an aluminum flywheel, use loctite, or it will rattle loose. RPS segmented flywheels have replaceable friction inserts so they will never "wear out" just replace the pads, which are pretty cheap.
Just my 2 psi. I LOVE the bronze disk. It held 502 whp NO problem in my dads car.
