I still have the stock ct-26 and don't know which way to go. I have seen ct-26 turbos upgraded with 57 trim and 60 trim. I don't really want to swap out to a different turbo/manifold/dp/blah balh blah as my goal is only 300-350whp. Just want to know what others have experinced with built ct-26 turbos and what is required to make them fit my needs. I have an old ct-26 and I'm going to get built so any specs on the wheels, trim sizes, and things to avoid would also be helpfull! Also if anyone knows a reliable shop I could send it off to would also be a plus!

Send it to MDC motorsports and tell Jon to upgrade it to a 57 trim.

DONE.

Easily 350 horsepower, reliable, and proven to be a great turbo.
Sounds good! Thats what im looking for exactly! Oem fitment right, no need for different oil lines or dp issues?

MCD has a nice setup. I think I'll get the braided oil lines for it at the same time...that should make install a little easier and rid it of restrictive banjo crap :biglaugh:. Thanks for all the responses!

Driftmotion is cheaper and do just as good of work IMO. I got my 57 trim ceramic coated and polished and I couldn't be any happier. I also got the stainless steel lines from MDC, and they are much better than the stockers.

I've been running a .57 trim with a 10 degree clip for about 50k miles now. get the turbine housing ceramic coated for peace of mind. i had a bad wastegate and was hitting fuel cut at 21psi @ 5k rpm, which made 350hp and 400tq.
john at MDC got me a working wastegate, so now i can pull to redline and i think my .57 should put down around 380 hp

See sig for what a ct26 can do...People can hate on them all they want, but I believe an upgraded ct26 is an unbeatable turbo for the price.. my two cents.

Under the "ct26 rebuilds and upgrades" thread. Aaron does great work and you can check out my 57 trim thread in there. The 57 trim pulls hard enough for me......for now!:evil2:

does anyone have a link to the specs on the wheels used in the upgraded CT's?

im more curious about the wheel diameters than the trims... since they are always referred to in trims, not sizes.

CT26 60-1 Upgrade...

Compressor Inducer: 2.324"
Compressor Exducer: 2.95"

Let me see if I can find the sizes on all the upgraded CT specs.

_____

Yes, Send it to MDC Motorsports. Supposedly, they've been selling, building, rebuilding and showing love to the CT26 Supra community for years and years. ;)

Oops. Sorry. Don't know where my manners are to NOT shed light on my personal experiences with upgraded CT-26's. :)

I've personally owned what would be a 43 trim, 57 trim and 60-1 trim.

Each different in their own ways as far as spool time and length of solid pull goes.

After all is said and done, I loved my 60-1 the most.
Each car is different...But with my particular setup, going from the .57 trim to the 60-1 trim, I did not feel or notice much difference as far as lag was concerned. However, running the turbos anything past 12psi, and I could really feel a difference in the higher rpm range.

Buuut, in a nutshell, the .57 trim was overall probably my "if I had to do it again" choice...because the life expectancy on a 57 trim as opposed to a 60-1 is quite noticable.

Upgraded CT26 worth it? With a horsepower goal between 300 and 350rwhp?
100% COMPLETELY WORTH IT! :)
