Upgrade in progress!!!????

So my stepdad didnt need this extra turbo he had. So naturally with me and him having mk3s he handed it off to me. I just need to know what kind of turbo it is?? And if I can get it to work on my car.

Ive found one website and ebay ad saying its a garrett off a powerstroker 7.3L desil. I dont know how true it is though. Any help it appreciated.

Does look a little like the powerstroke turbo. Mounting tab looks right, iirc. Think you'd need an adapter to make the exhaust flange fit, and probably a wastegate. The powerstrokes don't have wastegates or b.o.v.'s, so you'd have to go aftermarket.

No clue if it would work well on a Supra. It' a big turbo, meant for a motor with over twice the displacement, but a bit over half the rev limit.

It's a turbo with a Garret cover - I don't think one can gather / provide more information than that. Remove the compressor and turbine housings and measure the dimensions for the exducer and inducer for both the turbine and compressor wheels. Also measure the inlet outlet of the compressor housing. Determine the size of the turbine housings, T3, T4, etc..
This will allow you to plan for what exh manifold, exhaust, fuel, and engine management you'll need.

^^I probably wont sell it. Ill just give it back to him and let him get the money. Ill buy another turbo a little later on.

For real though, sell it. You can't use it for the supra...

Im pretty new too but from what ive read the larger the A/R # the longer it takes to spool. what are your goals powerwise? and moneywise?

big turbo indeed. If you got a buddy with a boosted Honda S2000, see if he wants it. Friend of mine has a turbo slight smaller than that and makes 701 hp. with his S2K.Engine is built of course..lol.

What's the difference between that 1.1a/r turbine, and the newer garrett GT turbos that have over 1.+ turbines? When they came out with the GT's everybody was all over them even though they had very large turbines too. Either way I wouldn't run something that big.
