gave it a nice new paint job. put 2 120mm holes in the top of it to add in some extra cooling power to it :p the specs aren't that amazing but still playing every game i've thrown at it at max settings and plus i built it for less than 100$ :naughty:

Pentium 4 3.2Ghz prescott
Nvidia 9500gt 512mb
corsair OC DDR pc3200 1024mb x2 "i know low like i said out dated but was on a small budget"
Realtek 7.1 audio
Sound blaster live platinum "just use it for the external plugs mainly midi"
logitech 5.1 surround sound " i love it so much"
Foxconn mobo
Alienware case "old school"

case specs
rear: 2x 120mm exhaust fans
middle: 1x 120mm cpu fan 1x 80mm video card fan 1x 80mm side case intake fan
top: 2 120mm exhaust fans
front: 4x80mm intake fans 2x hard drive coolers

current running temps: are you ready for this :sarcasm:

cpu= 46c
gpu = 40c
temp 1 "middle"=33c
temp 2 "rear=29c
temp 3 "front"=39c

this is a purely air cooled computer the noise isnt that bad at all and the temps stay almost around these all the time. hot or cold mainly because the room is A/C :p but even when i had it in a dorm room it held up good and i also had it OC'd at the time.

if there is anyone here who has overclocked a P4 or 9500gt please post in where you got it to, and temps to.

Niceee

I used to have a 2.8ghz Prescott at 4ghz.. [was stable for a while actaully.. but then the mobo fried] but left it at 3.4 stable. Was a sweet lil system.. till i got a AMD 64 3200+. Now im all the way on to a E8400 Core 2 Duo setup. heh

Your PSU so big that you can't fit any fans above it? I'm sure you know but those top fans are not really where they should be for best cooling...

OK. Just wondering as I have a similar case (which used to hold a similar system several years ago - 3Ghz Northwood P4 based) with a Corsair 550 watt PSU and it has plenty of room above it for the fan I installed. Your PSU looks quite large though, from those pictures at least.

ok so here is some more pictures lol.

here is the distance between the fans and psu. i need to put a piece of somthing to flow air better shaped like this / to fill in the extra slots for accessory's

see the thing though is even though P4 is a 5 year old technology its still on the minimal requirements for most games lol, and the over clocking abilitys are endless to. except on the northwoods i think you have to be careful not to get the vcore past 1.75v or else it may die premature

Looks like there is plenty of room above the PSU to me... ATX design was to have airflow intake at the lower front and exhaust upper rear, so keep that in mind when you're strapping 9 million fans into this case. ;)

Northwood P4 was > * at the time. They ran MUCH cooler than their successor - Prescott.

Honestly IDK how you can play any modern game on that very well... My now outdated Core 2 Duo Extreme/8800GTX OC2 (BFG) just makes it @ 1680x1050.

well see thats where i have to cheat, im running a 20" CRT still. so i have no HD abilitys meaning its kinda pointless for me to run it above 1024x768. but so far the only games that really have ran below playable is assasins creed, mass effect, and gta IV. but all of those are high demand games lol. but i played them and beat them. i swear there is somthing about this computer that makes it run great lol. the only thing i use it for is games and music my other p4 computer is a rebuilt e-machine lol i have that hooked to the plasma and only uses internet and movies. but yes there is plenty of space above the psu, but personally i dont understand why i would want a fan there wont do me much good. basically the design of the case is for it to be like a wind tunnel. and its doing just that. the 4 fans up front are all blowing air in also the side fan is intaking air. all that air is flowing in the same direction as the cooling fins on the GPU and CPU. which is also getting air pushed onto it. there is then the 120 mm fans pulling air upwards from the top of the case"rising heat", and out the back of the case which then allows for even more air speed :) like i said cant fit 9 million fans on it but i can fit 1 more 80mm lol and i have it right in front of me. just not sure if i have the plug for it might be out :p

Holy wires batman.

Keep in mind, you CAN have TOO many fans.

I designed my PC for looks mainly, but made sure performance wasnt degraded either. Added the HUGE Zalman cooler, so i removed the side window and put in a solid plexi piece. Removed the lower HDD rack, HDD's are mounted in the upper rack using adapters. Bought a piece of black diamond plate to cover the rack. Spent a good hour running the wires as clean as possible with just using duct tape. Took the green CCFL's out long ago. Had one attached to the back also to provide back/mood lighting (Looked pretty cool IMO)
My system:
p1412633_1.jpg

p1412633_2.jpg

Specs:
AMD Phenom x3 8600B
4GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2 I think 1066(can't remember)
Ultra X2 PS(Modular wiring FTW)
PNY 8600 GTS(Have no reason to upgrade, dont game much anymore)
2x 250GB Internal HDD's 1 1TB External
Zalman CPU Cooler (Thing is MASSIVE, and a PITA to clean)
Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Mobo.
Tuniq Symmetry case.

Only have 1 front 120 and 1 rear 120. Dont know temperatures, but it doesnt bother me. Had this for 3 years now and is running strong. Started with an AMD X2, upgraded to the X3. Added more ram, and another HDD. This thing is on 24x7(Media Server) and heats my room nice in the winter.

yea i tried like hell to run my wires but the psu has the heat wrapping on the wire, and makes them a little bulkier. my case is back before they came about hiding wires behind the mobo. like i said just need to zip tie a couple things here and there. there are alot of fans, but each has a purpose, how i wish i could make a smoke machine to see where the air flow goes and see what the air speed velocity from front to back is to see if anything is working how i suspect they are

thats not a bad idea but i think im going to need to have alot i think the smoke would disappear, oh well doing a compression test on the camaro right now lol

Hook it up to your computer!!!!

Lol.

Was also thinking graphite powder, but not sure how that would interact with the circuitry.
