Hey guys, My name is Carlos and this is going to be my supra build thread. I bought an 87 NA that the previous owner dropped a 7M GTE in it but left the W58 transmission. I bought the car for 1000.00 dollars. But as you can see below the car is in great shape. The only thing wrong is that the cars swap is incomplete. It is missing the harness, ECU, and incooler with piping, etc..

id stay away from the electric fans as the stock fans do a much better job. get some arp flywheel bolts too and use locktite. the n/a diff is a open diff and you want a lsd. so look for a good used one or buy a beat one and rebuild it. take a look at this page for the rear end:

good luck with your build.

I had them and they didn't do the job, also heard about a couple fires so back to stock and no problems.

If you use shitty fans, yeah they wont work well but a good pair with a proper shroud with cool very well with a good radiator.. There is more to it then just the fans...As for fires, thats just poor wiring...

And some N/A cars had an LSD... If it had TEMS, then it had an LSD. Chances are though that your car didn't or doesn't have a LSD.

basically exactly what my internals are looking like. I would not forget to put in a new oil pump and relocate your oil filter and the oil pump hose from DM just to give yourself some insurance on the oiling end of things.

Thanks for the tip but I was actually looking into that. I've just been debating if I should get a new pump. I think I am just gonna do it though.

Very nice car for this price...
Good to see you saving another one

How is the body?Do you have any rust?

Keep up the good work I will keep my eye on this

My build thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75125&highlight=sirgeorgee's+beast

Thanks, and the car has rust in the hatch area but by the spoiler. Its not to bad though. I have a rust spot less than a 1/2 inch wide on the roff but thats it.

By the way i subscribed to your build thread as well.

UPDATE!!!

This weekend I started taking my motor apart. I took plenty of pictures. I also learned a bit about my motor. First off it was recently rebuilt. It had new gaskets everywhere. I found ARP studs but with the paper head gasket. The motor also suffered from a Blown Head gasket. I could tell because all the piston heads where carbonated with the exception of one. So I am gonna go ahead and Assume that the the head gasket was leaking coolant into that cylinder. Here are the pics....

I heard nightmares of the crankpulley bolt. Snap-on tools took it right off.

This is all the buckets of parts I had after disassembly.

This is my boys garage... This is where it all went down.
p1265964_15.jpg

Now that I have everything apart I can sell some parts. And when My pistons and rods finally get here I will send them out with my block to get bored and balanced...

Now I just have to wait.

UPDATE!!!

Ok, so I ran into a bit of a problem. I have to put the project on a momentary pause because of some problems I am having with my license. So, with that being said I am going to be selling the 7m and all the parts that I have purchased for it. So I will be posting up a sale thread of it soon.

This does not mean that the project is over though. This just mean sthat when things get better I am going to go with a 2jz w/ a T70.

I will be keeping you guys posted on what is going on.

I am also trying to start a business selling rims and tires. So this is slowing down the build.
Thanks for looking!

AND NO IM NOT SELLING THE CAR!!! ITS IN TO GREAT OF SHAPE FOR THAT.
