Finally took the 88 turbo on a good long run....after being parked for a while i noticed a drip of gas at the right frame rail behind the wheel a bit.Low and behold i notice a loose steel line that attaches to a hose on the bottom of the cannister with fuel weepin out!Wtf...never noticed it before...put the line into a grommet at the subframe just because thats where it looked like it was before...running great...drove home...Is there too much psi from the 255 walbro...is the return blocked?...did i reverse something when i redid fuel ,vent , and return lines?...have a pic of the line on my phone to upload soon...going to check fsm....back in a bit!

Just checked..not leaking now..Had a thought..I got a replacement tank...may be jdm as it doesn't have a threaded cap...its a two tab style i assume is non venting....Simple as that?....and that hose from the bottom of the cannister goes to nowhere?

Your canister needs a purge line to the intake manifold through the thermo switch on the thermostat housing. If it doesn't purge, it will saturate with fuel vapor and drip out the bottom. The bottom line is the purge intake. It's meant to be open.

Did the air flow test on the cannister...in the tank inlet...air out the botom but don't feel any out of the purge nipple. Is the cannister toast?

I got a gas smell from my canister that was driving me nuts. Checked all my vacuum lines and found out the purge line was cross-connected to a non-vacuum relief line. I hooked it back up properly and the smell went away. If the BVSV is not working, by-pass it and plug the purge directly to the vacuum source. It should be able to clear out the canister, given some time.
