Great. Just freaking great. I just LOST the ONLY key I had to my Supra. While getting her ready to be towed back to my house to be worked on (it was stored at a friends house for about 6 months), I reach into my pocket after getting the key back from my friend, and voila, gone. Don't have the slightest idea where it could have went. Now my car is stuck at his house, I am frantically HOPING to find one of the spare keys I might have still around my room, and am quite pissed. Really, at this point, I have no idea what to do...:nono:

Is the car locked? If so, Hopefully you know someone that can get into a supra... then you will have to disconnect the battery, because the alarm will be going off, then take apart the passenger door, and get the lock cylinder out, and take it to your nearest Toyota dealer, and they can cut a key from the code # on the cylinder right there, it will take like two minutes... Good luck!

Call the dealer with your vin. It helps if they know you, also.. It was easy for me to do, and I only had them cut an extra like that.

Just call them, and say you lost your key. Here is the VIN number.... voila!

they wouldn't do that for me, I had to actually bring the cylinder down with me, Toyota doesn't keep the key codes for more than like fifteen years?? I tried to do this when I was at the dealer, and they said (Toyota headquarters) that the key code was no longer available, they just didn't have it, because of the age of the car (mine's an 87) but you should still try it, they might have yours, but more than likely you will have to take them the lock cylinder.

Call a locksmith. I had one make a key from scratch, without any key codes, vin #, etc...Didn't even have to take the cylinder out. I did pay $$$.

I paid $7
Mine's a 90, so that's probably it. I know that I can't look up key codes for GM's older than 89, so that must be the case with all cars...

Your friend actually stole the key back and takes the supra out at night when you're not looking.

Kinda hard to do, the cylinder head is at my house. But yes the car is locked, no there isn't a battery in it, it's just been in storage for quite sometime. I will try calling a locksmith and if that fails, monday I'll call the dealer. Thanks. In the meantime, a friend of mine also has an 89.. maybe his key will unlock it....

Well I gave the dealer a call earlier today and the guy said it would cost $5 to look it up. He said my 89 SHOULD come up but he wasn't sure. Just bring in registration and/or title and driver's license. Since it has no registration anymore, I need to bring my title... which is also conveniently lost. Practically EVERYTHING I had of importance before (vehicle titles, spare keys) was moved around to a place I no longer know of, so the frantic search continues.. on a lighter note, I found my 3/8" drive ratchet that I lost sometime ago.. :icon_razz At least it's not my transponder key for the Neon, dealer quoted me $100 to replace that. Good thing I found it again..

I didn't get any master keys when I bought my Supra, so I can't open the trunk except with the release by the driver's seat. I went into the dealership to see if I could get a master key but they said the same thing about not keeping the codes for that long.

One of the first things I did when I got my Supra was made two copies off of the key that looked in the best condition of the two I got with the car. Now the two originals are in a box somewhere... Hmm, maybe I should locate those.
