Okay, something that has been pondering my mind for the last couple weeks...I'm sorry if this comes to be a stupid question to anybody but I dont think i've ever seen Twin CT's on a 2J...would this even been an upgrade as opposed to the stock twins? I would imagine that 2 CT's would up it a little at least...i mean after all, you can find CT's rebuilt for pretty cheap...I just want some feedback on if this has ever been done.

2 Ct26's are bigger than the stock 2jz twins, imagine 3 cyl's per ct26 on a 7m (easily comparable to the 2jz because of same displacement).. only 3 cyl's of exhaust gases on the wheel will cause slower spool and more lag.

Theoretically, if you didnt mind the lag, I'm sure that some 3SGTE CT26's would fare better in that sort of environment, being a bit smaller...

I was pondering the same thing. But I was thinking more along the lines of an upgraded ct with a 60-1 (or maybe smaller) with MDCmotorsports new ball bearing center cartridge. Twin ball bearing upgraded ct's...Spool shouldn't be HORRIBLE and it would be a rather cheap alternative to the other twin kits out for the 2jz.

haha. well..how about a charity donation for J-spec!:) I'll be up for a project amungst Supramania members lol...well anyways back on topic, i would imagine that twin ct's w/ maybe a 57 trim and mdc's ballbearing c/c would probably make for a pretty nice upgrade...cheaper than others, for sure.

For the cost of upgrading the cts6's (2) AND replacing the cartridge with the DBB one, you're lookign at the price of 2 very nice garrett turbos anyway.
