how much shaft play is acceptable? is any? mine moves but it has to be pushed and it feels like a click back and forth. should I try to get a replacement? since I bought this motor from an importer with warranty I think I can get another one but I don't wanna drive to houston if it's not that big of a deal

Any axial play is not acceptable. A small amount of radial play is ok. Also if the turbo hasn't been in a running car for a few months it will get a bit more radial play that will go away once it gets a good oil supply.
