Nah the shaft speed whips it up like butter so they make a big slow drain for it and it turns back to Oil on it's way down.

This is why any changes to the PCV system can cause smoke as it slows the return and it floods the seals in the Turbo.

It'll do this if the Return is below the Oil level in the pan or if a Crank throw is in line with it and sprays Oil across the return hole.

ahhhh... interesting so when drilling a return line in the pan what would be the best spot? Could I do one beside the oil cooler return as long as it was above oil line , I think it is. Oh and about the PCV can you run open breathers or do they need that slight vacume of the intake? If not why do they make open breathers and some cars run them?

The stock Block Port is the best as it's above the Oil level but yes you can drill the pan just make sure it's not in line with a ConRod.

It all depends on the design of the motor as it comes down to volumes.

In the old days before PCV motors had a "Walking Stick" breather that went from the rocker cover to down under the car to take advantage of the low pressure under the car to create a vaccum.

Personally I wouldn't run a breather unless it was a seperator style catch can as Turbo motors typically have a bit of blowby on boost and if you run a filter type breather they're prone to clogging up with dust and crap so smoke and blown crank seals are not far away.
