Turbo Slowly builds boost???

The car builds boost rather quick to 11 psi than slowly makes it's way to 15psi (15 psi spring in wastegate). I'm running a T70 turbo with a welded internal flap( turbine 63 AR.), a "new" New Gen wastegate, not leaking ( checked both chambers), turbo reference is from the turbo coupler (via a quick tap fitting) which seems ok aswell. I don't know what the hell is going on, I'm a A.S.E mechanic and this is giving me nightmares and my pet sea turtle doesn't talk to me anymore. I'd gladly appreciate the help.

Might be blowing the valve off it's seat, be better to run a lighter spring and an EBC so you put boost into the back of the diaphram to help hold it closed.

Which would be better a 8 psi spring or an 11psi? I'm not boosting more than 15psi

8 gives you more adjustability, if you put boost into the back of the WG diaphram it'll easily do 15!
(I was making 28psi on a 5Lb spring)

I was thinking of getting a Hallman "manual" Boost controller, I'm not going to be tampering with boost too much, 15psi is my only target.

Won't work the same, it'll get "creep" the EBC keeps the line from the turbo to the WG closed until it's time to work

It's well worth spending a few $ as most will give you the option of a nice low boost setting for wet days!

Way back I was out at 5am doing a logging run, car came on boost at 100mph, wet road and turned the rear tires, scare the SHIT out of me as it was unexpected, the log shows the "OHH FUCK I'M GONNA DIE" moment nicely

I ran an AVCR then used my MoTeC for boost control, the AVCR was good but a PITA to set up and adjust...

I think I'd go for something more modern like a TurboSmart unit, I'm sure some of the guys will jump in with suggestions.
(No Turbo for me now I'm Blown)

I used the avcr and Aem truboost.

I honestly love the avcr.

The truboost is kinda a pain
