turbo selection

Sorry about the last post as it didnt ask specific questions, but here I go. The turbo I am looking at is from suprasport and it is t04e 66 stage 5. I dont know if I should get the ceramic bb and further if my car can support that turbo. I would like to get around 400 hp. If anyone has any experience with these turbos I would really appreciate some advice as I have tried to contact suprasport but they are awful at returning calls.My existing mods are ported head freshly rebuilt

fluidyne rad, oil cooler with fan

Malloy used to have the 67trim stage 5 iirc. He was pushing close to 600 HP, if not more (he may have made more than that, IDK) until one of his rods took a shit on him... I think his setup was also bal bearing

I plan on getting the BOSS stage 5 61 trim myself ;). I'm sticking with the big shaft option as the turbo is suppost to last longer with that CHRA. IMHO the 66 trim you want is overkill for 400 HP, but you never know. Once you have a taste for power, you crave more ;).

The problem with this turbo was my motor, after I ran this turbo, and it blew I decided to run a T4 setup. I noticed symptoms of a dying turbo within two weeks. I had upgraded to a larger feed line and everything. My motor has low oil psi.. and appearantly, problems. My motor was at blame for the blowing turbo, not the turbo itself.

The turbo is basically brand new.. it doesn't even have a rebuilt bearing.. it has a brand new center section. In fact, the only thing used on it is the compressor housing. Talk about a new beggining, 1 year warranty and everything ;)

Its great for the power too.. 387 RWHP at 15 psi on a sorry motor, untuned, with a boost leak.

yea guyes who have boss turbo's plz post here...i wanna get the t04e 68 trim big shaft with dual ceramic ball bearing...but ne one here have it ...?? i need some comments about it like whats his max psi??

The JT70 is a true 70MM compressor with a P-Trim exhaust houing, that is
a true bolt on.

I run the boss stage 5 turbo with the 54trim. max boost I was told is 35psi I am making 389 hp and 409 tq at the rear wheels on 18-19 psi. I think when we turn up the boost I should be able to get close to 500 hp at the rear wheels. I like this turbo turbo pulls very strong and has lots to go. Plus easy install.:icon_razz

I have been alone working in the shop and I have bad, very bad hearing. A stage 5, 66 trim is more than what is needed for 500HP. I have a special on one and it is new, If you send me an e-mail to greg@suprasport.com I will answer right a way.
A 66 trim will work on your motor but you may have more lag than you want. I have been selling more stage 41/2 turbo's, they have the inducer of a stage 5 and an exducer of a stage 4. Or the power of a 5 with the lag of a stage 4,a good street killer.
Ceramic BB is a good way to help reduce the lag of a large compressior housing, but it comes with a price. E mail me and I will give you my phone number that I can hear.
