what would cause low oil pressure then?

my car when its fully warmed up has oil pressure at ilke 50( i think thats right, mine reads in 100s) and thats really close to the bottom of the gauge. And also after its all warmed up, when I gas, it smokes...

is this a stock gauge? At idle its supposed to be 4.3psi, *yeah we know its low* and rule of thumb is for every 1000rpms, it should be at least 10psi, if it is, then ur fine. My car at normal 3k crusing speeds, sits around 30 - 35, I was worried but assured it was ok.

What color is the smoke?

Oh wait, ur 1j, might be different for you guys...

if you are using the stock gauge and haven't confirmed it is working proplery it's probably just off. I have gone through a few of them and none were accurate! Not to mention the oil pressure sender or the harness clip could also be bad. Time to upgrade to a nice new accurate gauge for this critical measurement! :)

White smoke is either water of some sort, or rear turbine turbo seals.

Gray smoke is typically front compressor turbo seals or rings.

Low oil pressure could be a number of things:

-Too high of oil temp
-Too thin oil
-Bad/worn pump
-Worn mains
-Etc etc etc

would rear turbine turbo seals cause air to get into the cooling system? and cause bhg-like conditions such as air gurgling behind the dash, and a fluctuating temperature gauge when boosting?

No. The turbine seal or compressor seal have nothing to do with the cooling system or the water jackets inside the bearing housing(s).
