The turbo is attached to the exhaust manifold which is attached to the head. If you take the head off the turbo is coming with it. I took my turbo off before I removed the head because its heavy as balls and I don't have an engine hoist.

It meant, "what?"

Your post didn't make any sense.

What do you really want to do?
Remove the head without touching the turbo?

If so, that's a lost cause... best to take everything off.

it's not really worth it.

The oil return lines will need to come off to get the whole thing to move WITH THE manifold far enough off the studs of the head to remove the head.

At that point, there are only 4 nuts holding the turbo to the manifold anyway.
You can try it... but when you're there... you'll say "forget that." And you'll just pull the turbo first.

Yea getting the manifold nuts off is the easy part. Once you take the oil lines off you might as well take the whole turbo off.

They are just in some crazy ninja places. I have heard that ratcheting wrenches help out alot but I did it with regular wrenches and sockets.
