Stock twins are perfect for DD :D

from what i have read on here its just a matter of time until they go out (is that ture?) and i know that they would be hard to work on when its in the car so thats why before i put my 1jz in i am shopping around for a single. thanks.

OK
yea it is true, they will go if you run too much boost. the heat will effect it in the long run but it just depends, some people have ran 20 psi on their stockers and no affect yet. that turbo might be kinda laggy cuz its A/R for the exhuast side is really big. you'll definitely need a upgraded fuel pump like the walbro and the 440s are okay but you won't be able to run as much boost as you think or like, mayb 12-14 psi @ the most for safety so you may not get as much hp as you are shooting for. its not gonna be the best DD cuz it will suck gas like crazy

I'm not sure of how much money may be an issue for you but this is what I would get. For that size turbo, you'll need to supply lots of fuel. I'd go with some larger injectors like 720's, 660's, or at least some 550's, a fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and something to controll your fuel like stand alone fuel management system or at least a Super AFC. Oh, and something to help your head to handle the higher boost. Head gasket, head studs. After all of this, you'll probably find yourself spending more time at the gas station then before.

Thats what I did. Enough power for my daily trips to school and back and the occasional honda that wants to play (get eaten) I think ;)

u can run 440's and make good power. i'm sure u can run over 13-14 psi with 440's it just depends on tuning and what size turbo your gonna run. 1jz's run rich from the factory. i'm running stock 370's on my car with a 60-1 and haven't gone lean at 14 psi yet. i just keep it at 10lbs before i put in my fuel pump and injectors.

This setup has been daily driven every day for over a year. 17 psi every day (mkiv 550s). Could use some tuning in the midrange as you can see.

But unless you are ready to get serious with other mods, fuel, control, etc, stock twins are your best bet.

If they go out in a year, big deal, get another set and replace them. It is not hard at all.
