well i thought i would post on this forum since no one would answer on i-supra. well quick question, i would like to put a turbo on my 7m-ge. i know i know it sounds stupid, but for me its alrite. i just don't want to replace my good running lower mile motor. my GE has 93,000 miles on it and has just had every gasket on the engine replace (including HG) and the head has been shaved and the cams polished. this is why i don't want a jumky used engine. oh and the bottom end looked perfect. well on to the question.

1.what electronics would i have to use?
2.would i need a turbo ecu?
3. would i need to change the intake manifold and T.B. over to a turbo one?
4.would it be easier to go standalone?
5.i know how to run a turbo oil return line just not a feed, need help with that??

and if you have any other ELECTRICAL info for me let me know. other than that i know what else i need to go turbo on it. yes, i know that with my high compression pistons it wouldn't be a good idea to go over stock boost (6.5psi). i will rebuild in time to lower compression pistons later just want to get a turbo on it for now. and yes i know the tranny is weak, will also be replaced.

thanks for the help

Yeah, I was planning on doing the same thing to my GE.... until I got rod knock. :icon_evil So now I'm just doing a swap. It's a shame b/c I have all the parts needed to turbo the GE; except a DP which are a dime a dozen. I'm currently waiting for the 7mgte.... hope your turbo setup works out. Mine never made it. :3d_frown:

fuhg it....

The old Cartech kit was for an advertised 300 hp. Automobile magazine way back when said it scooted extremely well. I still have that issue along with many others. The HKS kit trapped at 107 in turbo magazine at a little over 300 to the wheels. Both kits are long since extinct. Many now are installing a CT26 and calling it NA>T. Of course with a T, it inst NA anymore.

I have an extra one, but paid a rediculous amount for it... I was planning on keeping it as an extra, but if you need some parts... I should be able to hook you up. I have a manifold (I'll never need, b/c I bought a 7mgte), 440 injectors (on rail, with booth fpr's), turbo (oil & coolant lines) great condition. LMK
