for the guys that have removed the return line before, can it be done with the turbo on the car?
seems the solid return from the turbo to the end of the oem connector at the block is joined with a small section of hose and hose clamps. I found one clamp dangling and more oil to add to my clean up efforts. Unfortunately the hose/connector is a bit to big I.D. and the pipe coming off the turbo is not sealing 100%

option
A) new braided ss line from driftmotion
B) put a smaller connector between the two pipes,

i hate to remove more then i need to to get to the bolts on the block and what not, any tips?

i think i did it once with my jt61 at one time but it was alot more trouble than worth. taking it off the block is easy but off the turbo is not fun. pull the turbo

yea.... its definetely worth it to take off the turbo
with the turbo on.... its a serious PITA just to take off those 2 little bolts, much less changing the hose
good luck

its a lot easier when the motor is out of the car.... actually, im not even sure if its possible when the motor is in the car.

You can do all of that with the motor inside the car, it isn't much of a pain really after you've done it this many times. You can also torque the exhaust manifold bolts, it is possible because I do it.

turbo removal took me an hour tops, first time as well.

Do you tq studs down any before installing the manifolds and nuts? or just finger tight?
