Yes, it decreases spool.

well besides that, would it hurt the houseing at all? ive driving on it 200+ miles like this since i needed to go to work., and tomorrow is my only day to fix it :cry:

i belive i had an old metal one im gona through back in there.. hopefully i'll fix that problem..

i just installed a 57trim ct26 and its making a supercharger noise(at about 3500-4000 and goes to redline) when i rev it(i have not driven it so i havent put boost on it), sometimes when it idles rough it throughs codes 21 and 34 but as soon as i rev it past 2000 they go away(and idels fine). my charge pipe is shot but would it cause the problem that i am having(the noise). i will try to post a vid,its not a high pitch wine it more like a supercharger on low boost.

and i noticed but didn't think it was a big deal but the wastegate line coming out of the turbo is in a different spot i will get a pic of that to.
the turbo is bran spanking new :runaway:

Caleb, I believe you have a boost leak. The high pitched whine is the turbo spinning due to the large ammounts of exhaust flowing through it.

To check this, take the intake off and inspect the compressor wheel. It should spin smoothly and there shouldn't be any play. Also, if you notice scratch marks around the inside of the housing from the wheel rubbing, its already toast.

well i had time to work on the car today....removed the intake pipe,found lots of shaft play and scratches.this blows. the guy i bought it from says their is a 3 month warrenty on the turbo but he hasn't replied to his emails yet. so i think i am screwed, and 560 buks in the hole.

Just got an 89 turbo supra turbo was working fine for a while. But after my clutch burnt out i noticed i wasnt hitting boost i'd just floor it and nothing. When i drove it before i would start to hear this high pitch whistle but now its gone any help?
