I you're going through the trouble of new a new manifold. It would be more worth it to just go T4. But there is alot more supporting mods you will need for this route. Stock CT, an upgraded CT, or bolt on turbo will make a huge improvement with the stock mani. over an NA.

Rite now im running a 60-1 on my car with the stock mani, it flows just fine..well the whole 2 times i've driven the car since getting it in, and before it became cosmetically challenged. look in the MK3 parts section i see upgraded CT's for sale all the time, though IMO an upgraded CT in the end will just be a waste of money

Do you care to explain that opinion?

I think he means once you get a taste of more power from an upgraded CT you want more and more, causing you to go T4 with a whole new set-up.

sure,
Well anytime you push something beyond its limits there’s bound to be a failure, engines, turbos, pretty much anything can be applied to this rule, it just in how you engineer a specific parts the will lead to the ultimate question of “how long until it breaks?” The CT26 was not designed for the bigger blade or else Toyota would have put it on stock, it does handle the upgrade well but its still being pushed beyond the designed limit. I did upgrade my ct but ultimately a little after a year it crapped out and i was forced to reinvest in the CT. I opted to go a different rout and invest in another turbo, it just seems to me that every year or so spending X number of dollars to reinvest in a turbo that will inevitably break again is just a waste of time and money when there are other turbos out there that are designed to take more of a beating. Yea I spent more on my turbo but hell im planning on having this car for a while and i don’t need to be spending money on something the will inevitably break again, my money can go elsewhere. I will say that the upgraded ct’s are excellent for a quick, bolt on upgrade especially how readily available it is to find and upgraded one. The thing is what do YOU ,your self want from your car because that’s who will be driving it.
