I know it's supposed to get hot and all, but my performance has been acting up a lot lately due to either timing or spark plugs.

I recently tried the Autolite Irridiums, or Autolite XP5503's. I am thinking it's too hot a plug to run.

Anyway I have some colder NGK's here I'm going to install once the motor cools off, but I did NOT run it hard. Too add, when it does come onto boost, the boost comes on SO FAST now, you'd think that it would be good right? But my performance has gone down. Either the manifold is too hot and is causing the turbo to spin too fast, or something else like the ignition timing is off. It idles perfect, and when I first set the timing, it pulled like was supposed to, hard and purposefully. It just recently acted this way since I set the timing, but I'm thinking the plugs are causing it too. Even the manifold adapter, AND all the bolts glowed red too, which concerned me severely.

Your timing is off just like u said. At idle your MK runs fine under load u have no power and your turbo gauge is indicating its boosting like a madman only, u don't feel it on the butt dyno.
Check your timing w/ a timing light and then set to proper spec as per the TSRM 12 degrees BTDC.:icon_bigg

I jump Te1 and E1
Use a timing light
set it to 10 BTDC
disconnect Te1 and E1
engine stays at 10........

BTW, I have T and E hardwired, and use a switch in the cabin to initiate the check engine light. And yes, it works.

Maybe it did slip IJ, I'll have to check that out pronto.

yep sounds like a possible timing issue or a clogged cat/exhaust. not fam w/ your setup but that might be worth a look as well.

Ah, sorry I've been absent minded lately.

I've got a cometic in there, ARP head bolts, torqued to 95lbs.
Ross .020 over
T67 turbo w/ MHI 14cm housing (25G on a 20G hotside) stock manifold/T3 adapter.

I checked the engine timing, and adjusted it when the motor was slightly warmed up. I believe that for some reason, when the engine is very hot, after a long stretched moderate run adjusting the timing can give you a false reading, because it was right on 10BTDC before I let it cool, and when I started it up and saw the coolant was half way to normal temp is when I checked it and it was off by 8 degrees too advanced. After I changed it this time, I drove it down the street and let it warm up. Then checked it again, and it was where it should be at. It now pulls like it should.

Thanks all.
