Possibly a group A or turbo A (dunno) turbo, but I don't know enough about the whole "A" thing Toyota did to say for certain.

Also, it could be a simple attempt at going to a 53 trim turbo (I think that was the number) for reliability but also upgrading from a stock CT wheel.

I have been hearing that it by chance could be the turbo A but does anyone have some actual pics of a turbo off a turbo A???

^ but it says in your sig you have a 57 trim. anyody else with a 57 trim have eight blades? in the thread on sf, there's pictures of each flavor of upgraded ct, though none have eight blades.

i was thinking maybe some dumbass stuffed a dsm 16g in there some how, or some other type of mitsu impeller.

ummm no, stock ct-26 has 5 blades this has 8. look at the pics again.

Mine has 8 blades also. Unless the 62 year old lady (the original owner) that I bought the car from has a fascination with aftermarket parts, I still say it's stock. Trust me, and if you don't, put it on & run it. It's S T O C K.

EDIT: this is what a stock one should look like or an upgraded one:

that ones easy to tell as the exhaust side has dual entry (read divided) exhaust housing.

I know for a fact that the MR2 turbos are the same except:

-The compressor MINOR size is smaller, but not my much. You can't notice it with the naked eye
-The exhaust housing is a divided tang design like a t4

This compressor wheel is not stock in terms of fin count that I know of. Possibly it could be a late or early design by hitachi.

Just run the damn thing lol.

If you are really curious, take the compressor housing off, and measure the wheel in MM.
